Saying hi to you all from Dartmouth Nova Scotia - It's wonderful to be back home in Nova Scotia - the weather has been 90% sunny - I have been doing alot of walking - things have changed alot in downtown Halifax - I can't believe it!
It was so warm today that I was actually sweating as I walked along - my brothers are telling me I must have brought the sun with me cause it has been raining in Halifax/Dartmouth for the last month and a half - and since I have been here the sun is back again so they are all happy to see the Sun and dry streets :)
Have a great evening everyone!

This and That
I see that I haven't posted anything since May 14th - wow - time goes by so fast.
I have been reading other posts except for the last few days as I have been trying to catch up on office work and house work which I was bogged down in. Also with going to training sessions three times a week and picking up the grand children 4 times a week - the time just seems to fly.
I have a NSV !!! I jogged 3/4 of a mile on the treadmill with a heart rate of 179 (that's the same heart rate of a 40 something year old !!!!). I have never jogged ever before - and here I am at 62 doing just that! Dr Patti said last week - do you think your legs are stronger now - and I said "Sure" so then she said okey so today you are going to jog 1/4 of a mile - My eyes almost popped out of my head - I said "me" jog - I don't think that will happen. Anyway the long and short of it is I am now up to 3/4's of a mile - almost made it to 1 mile! See, you're never too old :)
I am about to make a 6 week trip to my home in Halifax, Nova Scotia - I am very excited about that - I am looking forward to lots of walking - its hilly in downtown Halifax so makes for wonderful exercise - I love to walk and I am looking forward to the cooler weather up there !
I will join the public library so that I can get on their computers so that I will not loose touch with what is happening with you all !
Have a great week end everyone !

Support Meeting
I went to my monthly support meeting today - it is always held on the 2nd Saturday of every month - it is something I look forward to!
There was only 5 of us today but it was a wonderful meeting - there was alot of sharing- which certainly helps with motivation and tips. One of the persons had their procedure just done on April 19th and had already lost about 36 pounds and the most wonderful part of his loosing this weight is that just 4 short weeks ago he was taking 15 different kinds of medication (Mostly for diabetes ) and today he said that he was only taking one medication - if that's not motivation to keep going, I don't know what is !!! We asked him how he felt and he said ... "sexy" - how wonderful is that.:)
I would encourage everyone to find a support meeting and attend it on a regular basis - you come away from it feeling so empowered- its a great feeling to be and talk with people who are in the same boat at yourself and understand where you are coming from.
I have decided to get a new hairstyle and on Monday will do the deed - I want something shorter and more up to date but easy to care for - keep your fingers crossed for me that it will work out to be a good thing... I am going into it with a positive outlook..... change is such a hard thing to deal with!

Exercise and weigh in day
I have been doing three training sessions each week for the last couple of months and I find that I am getting stronger and firmer and having more energy too.
Yesterday, she really worked me hard - my arms are still a bit numb from using muscles I have not used for a very long time but.... there was this 80 year old lady there doing so well that I just couldn't let her show me up, lol , so I really stretched myself and kept going even when I thought I couldn't go a minute more !
Today was "official" weigh in and I lost almost 3 pounds on the NEW scale which makes me very happy but I can't change my ticker because like I said in my last post - this new scale had me up 3 pounds from the old scale.
Anyway, next week I am looking forward to changing that ticker :)
Have a great day everyone.

Official Weigh in Day NOT HAPPY :(
Well I went to weigh in today and found that they have changed their scale again and this one will be the only one we all will be weighing in on from now on.
It weighed me 3 pounds more than the last time - it really upset me - I hate to see a gain - but I had to accept this new weight (although I do not plan to change my ticker). I will not let this new scale get the better of me - I will just try that much harder this week to do everything right -
I will admit that I did eat some things I should not have over these last 2 weeks {but not 3 pounds worth :( }and this is a kick in my butt to straighten up and fly right!
