Back from a short vacation

Hi Everyone

Just got back from a few days of shopping and relaxing - wasn't successful with buying cloths for myself - there were lots of size 1/2/3 x's but hardly any 14 and 16 's that I was looking for - but I did get a good pair of sneakers - Dr. Schoales - regular price was $79 and I paid $29.99 plus taxes - so that was a great deal.  I was looking for summer type clothes and all I could find was winter things which I can't use... oh well, maybe I can  try again in May.

I did enjoy eating out - - we ate lunch a couple of times at a place called "TwoJays" - they make the best sandwiches, wraps, soups, etc., etc. - everything is homemade and freshly done - both times we ate there, I packed up half the wrap and had it for supper.  One night we went to Red Lobster - I had the half serving of wood grilled salmon from their "Lighthouse Menu" I did eat all the fish but only 1/4 of the potato and all the veggie - it was delicious!

I did have a slice of cake for lunch one day - I enjoyed every morsel !

Did alot of walking of course, exercised in the hotel's exercise room and was pretty good considering that for some reason I had no restriction while there - this morning, back in my own apartment, I barely could eat my breakfast of 3 egg whites and 2 slices of turkey bacon.

I was thinking I might need to get a fill but with how things have been going today .. I no longer think I do.... these bands certainly have a mind of their own.

I went to weigh in this morning and am happy to say that I lost 1 pound so I am now at 194.2  :) :)

Now I have to catch up with all the posts - have a great night everyone.

B.Y.O.C.

I found this on Read's blog and so copied it as suggested :)

1. If you were on death row, what would your last meal be before your “death”?

It would be grilled salmon, scallops and shrimp with cheesy  mashed potatoes and cauliflower and for dessert – double chocolate cheese cake and nice cup of creamy, sweet  hot tea.

2. If you drive a car, do you speed?

The maximum speed limit here is 45  but mostly its 30 and I have gone maybe  5 to 10 miles over the limit but not often –

 3. What movie(s) do/can you watch over and over again?

I have watched “Dirty Dancing” , “Staying Alive” and Planet of the Apes  many times in the past but recently, I normally just watch once…. Oh wait a minute …. I must admit to loving the “Twilight” series  (you know Edward and Bella) I love a good love story J

4. What’s your favorite blog topic to read about and your favorite blog topic to write about?

Every topic is my favorite both to read and write about – I am interested in what everyone has to say – and I am always being inspired by someone and its keeps me motivated and excited.

5. Repeat question: Summarize your week in blogland and in real life.

I have to come here everyday – even if  I don’t post myself everyday, but I need to see what is happening with all my friends !

Real life is going well, I am a happier person, more upbeat and must more positive about life in general J

Weigh In

This morning was my official weigh in and I was thrilled to see that I had lost another 2 pounds

new weight is                     195.2

I have been feeling alot more restriction this week - both in the mornings and evenings - middle of the day is no problem - its only been a little over 3 weeks since I had my first fill and "Nakita" is really taking care of any over eating I might even be "thinking" about .... let alone actually doing!

We had a great support meeting on Saturday - there was 9 of us - three new ladies - one will be having the surgery this Wednesday and the other next Wednesday.  Both were very excited about having the procedure done.  One of the ladies I have know for over 20 years - in fact, we were both Weight Watchers Leaders many, many years ago.  So I am excited for her and hope to be alot of help to her on this new journey.  These support meetings are so important - to exchange experiences, encouraging each other and also a good place to bring and exchange clothes that you have out grown - I came away from the meeting feeling renewed.

Have a great day! :)

Compliments

People are starting to notice my weight loss over these last few days - its nice to hear the compliments !

I met someone new who will be having her lapband surgery next week - she remembered me from last August 2009 when she and I were in the same weight loss program (that's about 60 pounds ago) so she and her husband were telling me how fantastic I looked.  She was surprised that I had gotten the lapband and wanted to know when I had it done and how was I feeling about the whole thing.  First I told her that it was the best decision that I had ever made - that for me is was my last option because I had tried every diet out there and never could keep it off and could never quite get to goal (always within 10 to 15 pounds).  I told her that she had to commit to it 100% because there was no going back - I told her I had more energy and I felt healthy and happy.  I am hoping to see her at our next support meeting.

Well.... that's all for now :)

Welcome to 2011

I am looking forward to all the wonderful things that I know are going to take place in 2011 - I feel in my bones that this is going to be my best year yet!

Had a great dinner on New Years Eve - it keeps surprising me how little food satisfies me now - 1.3 oz of steak, 1/4 baked potato and 1/2 cup veggies !!!!

Later that evening, I had a 1/2 cup ice cream and two tiny shortbread cookies !

On Saturday, my daughter, grand daughter and me went to the movies to see Gulliver's Travels - it was really funny - a great family picture!

Today, I am just relaxing and counting all my blessings!

Have a great Sunday !
